What an amazing opportunity to represent a school district like Beardstown CUSD #15! This district enrolls students from 30 different countries that speak 18 languages! The depth of culture and unique perspectives is something that is not found in many schools in Illinois, let alone the United States!
We are in year two of implementation of our District Strategic Plan, and the board will be reviewing the goals that were written last year soon to determine the pace we are at to achieve them, and if new goals are appropriate.
We are in year one of implementing late starts twice a month in order for our staff to begin developing Professional Learning Communities. As educators, we are lifelong learners, and we need to focus on learning from one another in order to improve our craft, thus improving student performance. We are extremely thankful to the community for partnering with us on this. Our students will see the benefits very soon!
Another focus this school year is on communication. In order for us to communicate with you, we need to be sure that your contact information is up to date in our system. If you get a new cell phone number, or a new email address, please let us know so we can keep you up to date on all the amazing things happening!
We have purchased some new buses, we have concrete being poured at the transportation lot, and we are putting the finishing touches on our Gard Pre K/Elementary School project. So much going on! It’s exciting!
As I begin my second year in the district, I can’t help but give a shout out to…everyone! The people here in Beardstown have been amazing! THANK YOU for accepting me and making me a part of this incredible community and town! Go Tigers!
